«Конченая», 2018 — «Терминал»
В середине мая в российский прокат выходит триллер с Марго Робби в главной роли. Российских прокатчиков смутило, что у фильма есть известный тезка — хит Стивена Спилберга 2004 года с Томом Хэнксом. Было решено выпустить картину под названием «Конечная», но это стало поводом для мемов. Пользователи коверкали слово, и в итоге компания-прокатчик пошла на поводу у сетевых шутников. Так Марго Робби покинула «Терминал» и стала «Конченой».
«В джазе только девушки», 1959 — «Некоторые любят погорячее»
Оригинальное название было слишком смелым для СССР. В итоге картина вышла в Союзе только в 1966 году и под нейтральным названием. Успех был невероятный.
«Крепкий орешек», 1988 — «Неистребимый»
Английская идиома «Die hard» буквально переводится как «Умереть с трудом». В целом фразеологизм означает «живучий», «стойкий».
«1+1», 2012 — «Неприкасаемые»

Оригинальное название фильма отсылает к низшей касте индийского общества, и герои картины — пожилой инвалид и чернокожий преступник — олицетворяют изгоев социума. В России фильм вышел под нейтральным названием «1+1».
Более того, следующий фильм с участием Омара Си «Всё начинается завтра» в российский прокат выпустили под названием «2+1», хотя картина не имеет никакого отношения к предыдущей работе актера.
«Я очень возбужден», 2013 — «Влюбленные пассажиры»
Вообще-то Антонио Бандерас и Пенелопа Крус играли в комедии Педро Альмодовара влюбленных пассажиров авиарейса.
«Война миров Z», 2013 — «Мировая война Z»
Боевик с Брэдом Питтом снят по книге Макса Брукса и к роману Герберта Уэллса 1897 года не имеет никакого отношения. Книга «Война миров» рассказывает о столкновении людей и инопланетян, а фильм «Мировая война Z» посвящен зомби-апокалипсису (отсюда и буква Z в названии).
«Остаться в живых», 2004−2010 — «Пропавшие»
Руководство Первого канала решило показывать американский сериал Lost под названием «Остаться в живых», чтобы провести параллель между этим проектом и собственным реалити-шоу «Последний герой». Саундтреком к «Герою» была песня группы «Би-2», припев которой начинается со слов «Остаться в живых».

Собственно, похмелье — это то, чем закачиваются все мальчишники по всему миру.
«Мой парень — псих», 2012 — «Пьеса со счастливым концом»
Роман Мэттью Куика, по которому снят фильм, называется Silver Linings Playbook, что можно перевести как «Пьеса со счастливым завершением». Но в России книга вышла под заголовком «Серебристый луч надежды», а экранизацию и вовсе назвали «Мой парень — псих».

Российские прокатчики решили заменить оригинальное название на синоним покороче.
«Ограбление казино», 2012 — «Убивая их нежно»
Killing Me Softly — культовая американская песня 1971 года, в основу которой легли стихи Лори Либерман Killing Me Softly with His Blues («Своей тоской он тихо убивает меня»). Для американцев эта композиция — все равно что ламбада в Бразилии, но в России фраза «Убей меня нежно» мало кому знакома.
«Пока не сыграл в ящик», 2007 — «Список последних дел»
Оригинальное название — The Bucket List (дословно «Список ведра»). Оно обыгрывает идиому «Kick the bucket» («Пнуть ведро»), что в английском языке означает умереть. В русском же языке есть выражение «Сыграть в ящик».
«Форсаж» (серия из 9 фильмов) — «Быстрые и яростные»
Тут российские прокатчики как в воду глядели. «Быстрые и яростные — девять» звучит гораздо скучнее, чем короткое «Форсаж».
«Тоня против всех» // «Ледяная стерва», 2017 — «Я, Тоня»
Байопик о трудной судьбе американской фигуристки Тони Хардинг долго не мог обрести имя в России. Сначала было решено выпустить фильм под оригинальным названием — «Я, Тоня». Спустя месяц название изменили на «Ледяную стерву». В итоге в кинотеатрах картина шла под названием «Тоня против всех».
